Data privacy statement

With this statement we want to inform you of how we handle your personal data, i.e. the data you provide on your personal and professional identity.
If you wish to register with JustBook we need some personal data so that you are able to fully utilise our services.
Furthermore we explicitly ask for your consent to process the data which you are requested to enter separately. Your consent is recorded and you can withdraw it at any time in the future.

1. Our commitment

The safety of personal data entered by users of the JustBook application and website is very important to us. Therefore we capture, process and use personal data in adherence to the legal stipulations of the Federal Republic of Germany. We also comply with the data privacy regulations of the European Union.
The provisions on handling data contained in the General Terms and Conditions are supplemented by this Data Privacy Statement, explaining the type, extent and purpose of data usage and informing the user of his rights.

We use your personal data only to enable you to use the JustBook application and website. Furthermore we use personal data to send emails, for example, to confirm bookings and render other services. If we use addresses for marketing purposes, we will only do so if you have given your explicit prior consent and you are free to withdraw it at any stage. We will always remind you of this option.

We will never pass your data on to third parties, especially not for advertising and marketing purposes, unless you have given us your explicit prior consent.
For purposes of your booking it may, however, be necessary to pass on personal data to third parties – notably hotels, companies that check credit card details or service providers, which process hotel bookings. In such cases we pass on data when and in as far as is necessary within the scope of the association to such third parties. Otherwise we will notify you of the respective action when data is used.

We use Google Analytics. Please see the explanations further below.
The system captures the following data:

  • IP address of the user
  • User behaviour with respect to the website or app
  • Information on the browser used

This data is captured and processed by Google.
We also use services offered by third party providers, such as Facebook Connect, for authentication of users. Please take note that when you register with these third party providers you agree to the utilisation of this service and the corresponding utilisation of your personal data. Such utilisation is therefore based on the General Terms and Conditions and the Privacy Policy of Facebook.
In that event these service providers are the party responsible for using your data.
Please take note that our privacy policy does not apply when third parties process your data because in that case we are not the party responsible for processing the data.
We ask you to keep in mind that these are consequences of using our services – and to explicitly consent to the utilisation, which is necessary for registration. Third parties are also able to draw conclusions about your person from your user behaviour and your contributions.

If you withdraw your consent we may no longer be able to render our services and may have to cancel the contract with you. Your personal data is deleted after your membership has ended.

3. Utilisation of personal data

JustBook uses the personal data contained in the user profile solely for the purpose of substantiating, implementing and processing the user relationship.
Generally it is possible to visit the webpage and the mobile application without entering any personal data. Registration with personal data is necessary, however, in order to make bookings and use other extended services.
Under no circumstances will personal data be passed to third parties for advertising and marketing purposes. Any information entered separately on the personal or material circumstances of a given or definable natural person is seen as personal data.

4. Information necessary for extended use:

  • Email address
  • First name, surname
  • Credit card details to process bookings
  • If necessary, residential address to process bookings
  • Telephone number is optional

5. Newsletter

In conjunction with your first registration with JustBook you preliminarily sign up for the newsletter. If you confirm your registration with the Newsletter by clicking the respective link, you will receive emails from JustBook at regular intervals informing you about our services and products. In addition you receive emails to confirm and process your bookings. After registration you can cancel the newsletter at any time.
Using services offered by third parties may result in the processing of additional personal data. However, users can access these services again only by giving their consent and are notified beforehand that their data will be processed by a third part service. Certain services by Facebook (e.g. Facebook Connect) and Google Analytics are the exception. Please refer to the separate privacy policy information regarding Google Analytics and Facebook services.

6. Recording data with log files

When you access our website your browser automatically transfers data to our web server for technical reasons. Among others, such data include the date and time of your visit, the URL of the reference page, which files were downloaded, the volume of transferred data, browser type and version, operating system and your IP address. This data is stored as log files and are kept separate from other data which you enter when you use our services. Technical data is not allocated to a specific person unless a court orders us to do so.

7. Use of cookies:

Our website uses cookies. These are files which are stored on the user’s computer. Cookies do not store personal data, only a session ID. The user can disable cookies by manually changing his browser settings. As a result some JustBook functions may not be available.
Furthermore JustBook uses third party services which may also set cookies on the user’s PC. In this case users can also disable such cookies by deactivating third party cookie acceptance in their browser.

8. Using third party services which pass on personal data to providers abroad

This website also uses Google Analytics and some Facebook features. Special cookies are used in this connection. Please note that information may thereby also be transferred to foreign countries. Such transfers are subject to the separate privacy policy information on Facebook and Google Analytics. Please note that we do not transfer any data which you have consciously entered into contact forms to foreign countries.

The content of this acceptance is recorded by JustBook. The user may withdraw the content of his acceptance at any time.

14. Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service of Google Inc. (‘Google’).

Google Analytics uses cookies. These are text files stored on your computer to analyse how you use this website. The information generated by the cookie about your utilisation of this website (including your IP address) is transferred to a Google server in the US and stored there.

Google uses this information to evaluate your utilisation of the website in order to compile reports on website activities for the website providers and to render further services connected to website and internet utilisation. Google may also pass on this information to third parties if required by law or if the information is processed by third parties on behalf of Google.
